Sorrento, Mornington Peninsula.

Five thoughts on Sorrento, Victoria 1. I first went to Sorrento thirty years ago just after finishing school, but it was Sorrento, Italy!  I never imagined all those years ago, that not only would I be living in Australia, but I would be back again enjoying summers in Sorrento.  Both Sorrentos are coastal towns, one facing the Bay of Naples, the other on Port Phillip Bay. Sorrento, Victoria was named after the southern Italien town, which explains why you can find a great pizza in Sorrento! 2. One of our favourite things to do with visitors is the Sorrento-Portsea Artist Trail. It is no surprise to anyone who has been to Sorrento that it has been a favourite spot for many famous Australian Artists. In this walk, you can view the original painting whilst looking at the original inspiration being painted.  3. The Sorrento foreshore is a popular place to hang out in the summer because of the gentle, sheltered waters against a backdrop of lawn...

Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels at Ferntree Gully, Upper

[Hello! You’ve found yourself at Day 6 of my April A to Z Challenge and you’ve joined a virtual bus tour of regional Victoria, Australia.   My name is Wren and I live in Melbourne. During April, my husband and the kids are having to find their own dinner, whilst my Crazy Poodle and I, have an inordinate amount of fun showing you around.  We are happy you can join as we get to know each other and explore the fabulous, fun, friendly, fantastic Victoria, for armchair travel at its best!] Ferntree Gully - I wonder how that name came about? Welcome back. Thank you for being such sports on 'D' Tuesday, squeezing into that Mini car. I love that I can throw anything at you and you’ll just rise to the challenge! In honour of Mary-Anne, Cynthia and Jeanie being so amenable to ride in the "boot", I'm going to suggest they get promoted to the front rows of this little bus which I found for the ride today!  All aboard, I've found you a bus! That's what my kids think I do all day.  Sure Melbourne's cafe culture is the best in the world... so says someone, I forget who, probably it's the City of Melbourne who say that! There are apparently more cafes than shops in the CBD these days and I wouldn't certainly wouldn't get very far without my daily 'skinny  cappuccino', but it's not my entire existence, I promise! 2. I've been busy sorting out the new purchase of a dishwasher. Well, what a palaver that was...  I went to the library to read the Choice magazine's "best dishwashers" because they have a nice cafe at the library and why not,  a girl has to do her research (with a nice coffee) I decided on my ' best buy'  when Mr Wren said he had a $20 discount voucher for Masters Home Improvement store plus ...
