Venus Bay, Prom Country, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia

Looking for a good place to holiday?  Look no further than  VENUS BAY... If you have just wandered in from the other side of the world  I hope you'll enjoy visiting this spectacular Victorian small coastal resort. If you have been with me throughout our April A to Z Wander Victoria* adventure, we are just across the bay from jet - skiing in Inverloch day! We love  Venus Bay !  We very nearly bought a holiday house there a few years ago, before deciding on a closer location on the Mornington Peninsula, and being the unadventurous types, opting for a town on mains drainage!  However for many, the pristine surf beaches make it worth going the extra mile. Venus Bay is a two-hour drive, being 170 km South East of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The town is on a narrow peninsula of land, so it offers the holiday maker the choice of the wild, open sea of Bass Strait,  or  the calm waters of Anderson Inlet. ...

Up the creek without a paddle! Australia is blessed with some great beaches, so it is always interesting to see where the most popular holiday spots are. You'll rarely if ever, find a beach that fails to deliver... Yet  what stands out with the best frequented Victorian coastal destinations, is that they often offer both the sheltered, calm swimming beaches, together with the surfing ocean beaches.  Inverloch, Gippsland, Victoria Inverloch, a seaside holiday town 143 km South East of Melbourne has both ocean and inlet beaches. Despite being on the choppy Bass Strait, which is great for all forms of surfing, it also has the gentle, protected waters of Andersons Inlet. It justly deserves its reputation as a wonderful location for a family holiday. Life's a Beach (cont!)

Inverloch Surf Lifesaving Club Gippsland, Victoria ' Saving lives, preventing injuries, enjoying the water' Summer in Melbourne is about being at the beach.  There are 57 surf lifesaving clubs in Victoria  offering summer programs for kids as young as 5 years old.   Swimming is a necessary life skill in Victoria,  the surf life saving clubs offer a fantastic way to learn how to be safe in the acquatic environment, to get fit and to make friends. Inverloch's SLSC has one of the best surf beaches in Victoria and their Little Nippers program, looks a lot of fun! U10 Nippers Inverloch SLSC It's easy to see why Inverloch is a popular holiday destination. We love the surf beach here, you can walk a long way. The Gippsland coastline is dog friendly, here the Crazy Poodle and his great mate Spurt, enjoy some off lead fun. Getting them to sit still long enough for a photo was quite a challenge!
