Elephant Prayers for the World

Hello, hello how are we all going? I feel like in my neck of the woods we are all holding our breath about this second wave of COVID-19. Here in Thailand, things are still going well but I am looking across at friends and family in Melbourne, Florida, California, and Spain with everything crossed and sending lots of love. This weekend we've had a holiday weekend here in Thailand, it is the King's Birthday. Long Live the King! We are very fortunate to be able to freely travel within Thailand and are venturing further and further afield. For this week's wanderings, we took a road trip. Won’t you take a wander with me and I’ll show you around! I’ve found my new favourite temple in Thailand. The only trouble is that we’ve had to drive over 5 hours to find it! This week's staycation has taken us to Sukhothai the first ancient capital of ancient Siam - it is worth the trip! Let me introduce you to Wat Chang Lom , outside the cit

We're off and flying here in Thailand!

Hello everyone - how are you doing?  All is good with us here in Bangkok, Thailand. Across the globe, there seems such a diversity of people's lives and living at present don't you think?  Our Aussie friends and family in Melbourne, are now sadly back in their second period of COVID-19 lockdown. They are looking across the borders into the other states, and other parts of the world, wishing they had the same happy freedoms.  Do you like this sign I spotted this week? I am hoping you too, are far away from stress, anger, traffic misery and worries! Signpost on the holiday island of Koh Yao Noi Our British friends and family have been cautiously re-emerging back into life on the outside, the word pub has even been mentioned. My Mum is doing a roaring trade, making and selling face masks for a good cause.   Then there is us in Thailand.  Thailand has received international praise for it's handling of the pandemic with less than 60 deaths as of July 1

This little bird is off on her wanders again!

Hello from Thailand where we are slowly but surely  emerging from those dreary days of lockdown! We remain under our Covid-19 Emergency Decree.  However, things are reopening and big news for me, we are able to travel now between provinces. This means there is a whole country out there with none of the expected 40 million tourists this year that Thailand had hoped for. Our skies are blue and our air is clear. There still no news as to when tourists will be allowed to enter the country. So until this happens, I will not be leaving Thailand as I won't be able to get back in! In the meantime, although I would love to see family in the UK and Australia, I fully intend to make the most of exploring Thailand and putting my Baht into domestic tourism. Kanchanaburi wanders Would you like to come for a wander with me and see what I have been up to since I last posted? I have been posting over on my (now only)  Thailand Travel Blog and would love you to come over here
