G'day from Melbourne Australia!  And welcome to my first ever Saturday Critters post. Well actually G'day is a bit fake coming from me because as originally a Brit,  I'm more likely to say Good Morning!  But G'day is the official welcome here, so G'day it is... I'm Wren.   My Little Wandering Wren  blog is to share my travels with family and friends.  Now Aussie based for a while, it's evolved into posts about my Australian life.  Spring is delayed by a month! Our Melbourne garden has endured plenty of unseasonal weather conditions this year. Spring, (September to November in Australia) has been no exception.  We've just had the slowest build up to summer that I've know in nine years living in Australia. Meteorologists  reckoned that our spring has been delayed by a month due to the cold, wet conditions. A few years ago we were in a drought, which the poor farmers in Queensland are still suffering from. Many gardens in Melbourne were dug up and replaced by more drought tolerant options. Traditional cottage gardens, replaced by more native style gardens. We held our nerve and our plants, and installed a grey watering system. This puts all our shower water directly onto the garden. Today our cottage garden is flourishing. Happy Blue Monday It's that time of the week when I am searching for something...  interesting               topical                       Australian                                     and  above all blue                                                             for my Blue Monday post.  But nothing quite springs to mind... In fact, it appeared that everything I thought of was going to be a load of rubbish. Ah ha, I could do the trash, as Monday is our bin day and our recycling bins are blue... Any one for Cricket?  The bin reminded me of the cricket. Australia beat England in the Test Match, which is a rarity ...

Do you ever wonder...? I bought a necklace  in India last year...  It is well travelled.  O h the stories it could tell!  L ike  W here was it made?  ( I was told it was local from the foothills of the Himalayas... ) W ho made it?  D oes she  (I n my mind it was made by a lady,  hopefully not a child...  and certainly not a man. )  E ver wonder who bought the jewellery?  O r think 'Where in the world will it will end up?' I fell in love with this necklace,  seeing it as a connection to our 16 year old son,  who was on exchange at an Indian boarding school,  and as a memory of  my Indian Adventures... Like the crazy twenty hour journey I took just to reach him...  On an overnight sleeper train from Jaisalmer  to Jaipur ,  leaving my girlfriends,  and travelling solo,  for a six hour train ride to Delhi.
