You know you're home in the Cotswolds when....

Would you like to take a little wander with me
in the picturesque West Oxfordshire Cotswold village of Clanfield?

You know you're home in England when the local Inn is called The Plough...

The Cotswold Plough Inn and Restaurant

Spring is a lovely time to visit this pretty village.
The daffodils are adding a cheery burst of colour against the Cotswold stone wall

Every house has a certain charm, even on a grey day...

Blakes Kitchen in the old Post Office has done wonders for village life.
It used to be that you would stay home and invite your friends around for a nice cup of tea.
Why we always say 'would you like to come round for a nice cup of tea'? I'll never know.

Blakes Kitchen, The old Post Office, Clanfield
Why stay home when the choices are way more exciting in the local cafe
from a cappuccino to a local beer, cider or Cotswold gin.

They even have a micro-bakery
With lots of Easter Hot X Buns of course... oops sorry one's missing!

From Blakes Kitchen microbakery, Clanfield
What a good use of the old British Telecom telephone boxes,
now used to store the emergency defibrillator.
I'm happy to see these pop up everywhere in the UK and Australia
do you have a defibrillator near where you live?

You know you're in the country when there are instructions on what to do with your horse.
Keep off the Village Green!

And some kid's lost their posh Hunter wellies...

Oh, it's good to be home!

Before I go, I am about to start an A - Z challenge of Wren's Worldwide Wanderings
on my travel blog, LittleWanderingWren.com and I'd love you to join me.

Each day in April I will be posting on a different country,
not to mention posting from different countries too.
Between our European trip, Easter and Songkran (Thai New Year) travels in Asia,
it's going to be full on.

Not to mention I have a Fitcation in the mix in Bali at the end of April.
Who thought that was going to be a good idea to throw a Fitness break into my crazy wanderings...??
I don't have time to get fit for my Fitcation!

Oh well, do join me and see if I make it to the end of April.
Happy Wanderings!

Hello, Wren!
You do sound busy, traveling around the world. Love the village photos. Very pretty place, lovely collection of photos. Thanks for sharing your visit and for taking me along on your travels. Have a great day and a happy week!
It does look like a place you could walk for hours and enjoy the countryside. You might wish for a horse to ride after awhile though...or a nice cup of tea! Love your photos! I just watched the movie Miss Potter and loved the scenery in the movie!

What a delightful village. So typical of the Cotswold.
Oh my - how I would love to spend some time in the Cotswold Plough Inn!! Not so sure I would find the 'nice cup of tea' all that attractive, but that cappuccino looks yummy. And what a great idea for recycling telephone boxes! We have defib's here too, but they're generally inside buildings, which is okay during business hours, but not so handy when it's not.

English villages are ever so pretty! Scottish villages are far less picturesque, more rough and ready I would say. What a good use for a phone box. I don't think there is a defibrillator anywhere near my house. Fingers crossed we won't need one anytime soon. Enjoy your visit home x

It certainly is a beautiful spot. x
The Cotswolds seems such a lovely place to visit. What a great use for an old telephone box for the defibrillator. We don't have those in my part of Australia. Happy travels and thank you for taking me to the Cotswolds and for visiting my blog this week.
Hi Wren!!.. Love it..

So pretty and quiet. After your city life, I’m sure that is quite welcome! You didn’t notice a wellie-less child walking in the mud, eh?
I'd love to visit the Cotswolds area one day! My husband and I watch British series "Midsomer Murders" on Netflix and the imaginary Midsomer area of England always looks so enchanting, much as I imagine Cotswold to be.

I love the idea of using telephone booths to house defibrillators! I wonder how they are not stolen, however, by nefarious types? I imagine defibrillators are expensive machines.

The British Isles are still on my bucket list as for the architecture as anything. Enjoy your travels!

What a pretty village. Nice idea to use the phone boxes for the defibrillators.
I haven't seen a similar thing around here.

Now this is lovely. This is a part of the UK that I've always wanted to visit, soon I hope. And Hot X Buns are my weakness. Well, one of them.

Autumn Spice and everything nice!

Hey, what ever happened to Summer? I hope yours was lovely, mine was pretty amazing! It feels like my whole year has whizzed past in a flash, how about yours?  I've had a year of saying "yes" to everything offered to me. It has been exciting to put it out to the Universe to see where I should be. We feel very fortunate to be able to do this in my husband's early years of retirement. I'm just back in Asia from the US. I never feel my year is quite right without seeing British daffodils in the Spring and a pumpkin and the leaves turning in Autumn. Yay, the world nailed it this year, thank you.  Read on to find out what happened when my ultimate yes occurred on a trip to Montana to meet Ruth, an IG friend. I know Bloggers will smile and not be at all concerned, we've been meeting up around the globe for years, haven't we...?!  But let's just say some of my family and friends were, you're doing what?! But first some Little Wren updates! France I had so

Taipei Adventures, naked - moi?!

I have to tell you all about my little adventure in Taipei recently, naked at the Hot Springs! I can't believe that I have never been to Taiwan, I certainly urge you all to go if you ever get the chance. For me, I loved the combination of influences of two countries I enjoy.  Street views from Downtown Taipei The Chinese left some interesting historical influences and stunning architecture, which combined with a Japanese legacy and efficiency in transportation, makes Taipei an easy place to visit, with so much to see. Nowadays, Taiwan has emerged as a thoroughly modern city, I loved my time there. It felt exotic and safe until I had to get my kit off. It was a spur of the moment decisions to join my husband on his Taiwanese business trip, prompted by the delay in the arrival of our furniture into Bangkok, and ‘no room at the inn’ where we had been staying. Given that I’m commitment and fancy-free in Thailand; there’s no job, no kids, no dog and absolutely nothing in

It's a funny old world!
